FleshTime

This series is painted using four colors: cadmium yellow light, cadmium red deep, ivory black and zinc white. I've used this combination for over 40 years when I want to accurately depict any skin tone. But now, I paint the interaction of a palette I know intimately without concern for anything literal.

In 2025, contextualizing this 2020 Series, we were in the middle of the pandemic. I understand in retrospect my isolation and my fantasy to unify our differences by painting compatible flesh tones. I painted the FierceTime Series then too.
